The music of Strawberry Guy sounds familiar. Not that l can put my finger on it. It is nostalgic. Comfortable. Not boring, somehow peaceful. Sun Outside My Window taps into a universal condition that echoes a laziness that some of us want more than we have.

Izykite. Sounds good. Finding out anything about Izykite is not ‘easy’ but maybe that makes it all the more intriguing. Izkite is an example of a wave of independent Korean musicians that keep things simple, letting the music speak for itself.

In writing these stories l’ve stumbled across a number of people that I otherwise wouldn’t have, Tamino is one of those. At Globescope, the interested is focused on things international and that resonate from a different perspective. Tamino is a singer, song writer and musician creating great music with a global bent.

Joy Division represents everything that is good about the best music, design, art or architecture; they had an edge and most importantly, they did what they did because it was right for them.

10 Years. Its 10 years since the release of the M83 album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, so of course we must celebrate. I am a late comer to M83, l’m embarrassed to say. My connection came to M83 via the movie Warm Bodies. A little trance, a little abrasive and little apocalyptic, M83 is a perfect choice for a film about a different world.

I want to write about Channel Orange by Frank Ocean and would like to write about it without using the word “love” or “awesome” or “amazing”. Not because these aren’t appropriate words for this album but they feel a little immature or not appropriately cool for such an album.

I really just wanted to share this music with you; its no more complicated than that. Antidote by Indoor Fins rolls joyfully and seems like an effortless flow of energy that bounces between dance, groove and anthem.

Feeling like l wanted to listen to something a little different, l randomly searched iTunes and luckily landed on Park Hye Jin’s album Before I Die. Listed by iTunes as Electronic, l think this is one of those albums that blends a range of music typologies into an ambitious collection with edge that l liked.
